Photo Clips

I like this photo (photo number 9) because it is very sharp. I also like the smoke in the background. I do not like this photo because it is very dark and there is not a lot of contrast to it. How would you re-stage this photo? It doesn't make me think if a home foreclosure, it looks more like the results of a natural disaster.

What would I re-stage for the photo with the woman standing outside her house? That palm tree on the left side is driving me crazy, so I would probably cut that out next time. By doing so I would have to fix the angle of the house and front yard.

I don't know what I'd do to change the last photo. It is confusing though. I, too, would have thought something like "hurricane victim" before "foreclosure victim." I'd probably totally change the setting if I could. Maybe have a closer portrait of her with some of the items she lost when she lost her home. I'd like to see more of her face since the photo is obviously trying to communicate the human element/something touching and not just facts.

The face is missing out of the third photo. I didn't really know what it was trying to show me until I read more about it. I didn't like the second photo either because the lights in the ceiling were the first thing I saw, then finally came down to the faces.

The second photo probably would have been better if the photographer wasn't looking up at the men. The light behind the man's head is really distracting. The last photo I would pick a different location. I agree with everyone that the palm tree takes away from the woman.
