I like this picture because I think it's very striking and the firefighter in the back is cool. The woman in my second picture is too dark, and I want to be able to see her expression (although I guess I can imagine it). I was wondering in my third picture about the lighting. It just looks funny to me.

I actually thought the second picture, your bad picture is a telling scene of foreclosure, as she stands in the midst of her scavenged belongings. She does not look too dark on my screen.
LOVE this first photo. The color is awesome and it is very sharp. I also used the second photo as the one that I don't like because I don't feel like it tells the story. The third photo- my eyes aren't drawn to the subject.
The first picture... wow. I wonder what time of day this photograph is taken because the lighting is what makes the photo so crisp and realistic in my opinion.
I like the first photo, but I'm a little hesitant about the color. Everything looks kind of rust-colored, which, of course, contributes to the idea of the fires, etc. Still, it kind of makes everything fade into a big rusty blob if you're just running through the photos and not really examining them.
The first photo is well composed; the framing of the firefighter works nicely. The second photo actually isn't that bad, but I would have liked it better if the photographer had taken one or two steps to the left.
